De Ateliers, founded in 1963 by and for artists, is an international institute dedicated to the development of visual artists at the start of their careers. It is housed in a monumental building in Amsterdam and accommodates twenty Dutch and international artists who develop their work at the highest level over two years in their own studio, under weekly intensive guidance from experienced peers. De Ateliers offers various workshops for wood, metal, and plastics, as well as a studio for video editing and sound recording.
In 2023, De Ateliers opened ‘Woonhuis’: this former internal caretaker’s residence serves as a project and presentation space with a varied public program including exhibitions, lectures and performances.
