Many (former) participants of De Ateliers show new work during Amsterdam Art Week at various venues. All galleries are open Thu 12 May (17-21), Fri 13 May and Sat 14 May (12-18), and Sun 15 May (12-17).
Jen Liu’s new show Electropore is on view at Upstream Gallery (Kloveniersburgwal 94). Eiffel Towers, a soloshow by Ghita Skali, opens at Van Zijll Langhout Contemporary Art (Brouwersgracht 161). Ana Navas participates in Transforming Cultures into Bodies at Tegenboschvanvreden (Bloemgracht 57).
P/////AKT (Zeeburgerpad 53) presents Powercells, the commons, a solo exhibition by American artist Anders Dickson (Wed, Thu, Sat, 12 – 18 h; Fri, Sun 12 – 19 h). The venue also hosts an afternoon with Root Canal, a collective of four former Ateliers participants, including the launch of Mixtape and a live performance by echo + seashell (Henna Hyvärinen and Susan Kooi) on Sun 15 May, 17-19 h.
Several painters participate in Amsterdam Art Week. Hans Hoekstra makes his Amsterdam solo debut at the new gallery of Michiel Simons (Vijzelgracht 2). Dweller, a series of new works by British painter Leo Arnold, is on show at Annet Gelink Gallery (Laurierstraat 180). Paintings by Swedish artist Axel Linderholm are being presented at Galerie Onrust (Planciusstraat 7). Charlotte Schleifert is showing large scale paintings at Nieuw Dakota (Ms van Riemsdijkweg 41-B). The Borzo Gallery (Keizersgracht 321) proudly presents new work by Jan Commandeur.
