For Dutch artist collective gerlach en koop, the creation of an exhibition is a work of art in itself, whether with works of their own or by others. ‘We believe it is important for an artist to build endurance. To be resilient. To be able to say no when it is necessary. To be able to endure success. You need a practice for that, so that you know what needs to be done tomorrow, independently of others, and the next day, and next year.’ Solo exhibitions include Bonnefantenmuseum (Maastricht, 2016), Temporary Gallery (Cologne, 2016), De Appel (Amsterdam, 2015) and Ellen de Bruijne Projects (Amsterdam, 2013). They participated in groupshows at Mu.ZEE (Ostend, 2013), CAC (Vilnius, 2015), Société (Brussels, 2017), La Criée (Rennes, 2017), Project Arts Centre (Dublin, 2017) and Hammer Museum (Los Angeles, 2018).
