Spring Blossom 2017: artist talk Marine Hugonnier
Marine Hugonnier (b.1969, Paris, France), lives in London
Marine Hugonnier’s work is greatly influenced by her studies and long-standing interest in philosophy and anthropology. Working across film, photography, installation and collage, Hugonnier’s art explores how historical or social conditions affect our experience of the present moment. Recent solo exhibitions were held at Schirn Kunsthalle (Frankfurt, 2015), Beursschouwburg (Brussels, 2015), Baltic (Gateshead, 2014), MOCA (Seoul, 2014), Sainsbury Centre (Norwich, 2013), FRAC Champagne-Ardenne (Reims, 2009), Malmö Konsthall (2009), Villa Romana (Florence, 2008), Kunstverein (Braunschweig, 2008), MAMCO (Geneva, 2008), S.M.A.K. (Ghent, 2007), Philadelphia Museum of Art (2007), Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Turin, 2007) and Kunsthalle Bern (2007). She is represented by Galeria Fortes Vilaça (São Paulo) and Nogueras Blanchard (Barcelona).
